Beginner to intermediate rock’n’roll classes are a fun filled hour of partner dancing 50’s style rockabilly!
Bring a partner and enjoy the informal social atmosphere, learning the basics of rock’n’roll dance and building a repertoire of moves each week until you can cut up any dance floor.
Classes do not require previous experience and beginners are very welcome. Dancers are able to learn at their own pace as teachers float around the floor and demonstrate new moves as couples become ready for the next step.
ROCK’N’ROLL DANCE
Rock’n’Roll is a partnered dance style and dancers should seek a partner to learn with. For dancers who struggle to find a partner to attend with, contact our friendly team and join our single dancers waiting list to see if we can assist in finding a partner for you. All ages are welcome.

How do I register ?
To register in advance of the class, click on the ‘sign up’ tab on our website menu. Registration prior to this class is required to assist instructors in planning the class.
How do I pay?
Payment can be made via our website, see the ‘sign up’ tab to pay for classes online. Payment can also be made at the beginning of class using cash or card.
Do I have to pay for a whole term?
It is fine to come to a single class and to pay for each class weekly. Paying by term allows the advantage of a discount however, weekly payment is accepted for this class.
If I pull out of classes, can I get my money back?
Fee refunds are not available, however should you decide to pull out, transferring your credit to a friend or family member to take your place is a good way to make use of your credit should you be unable to complete the term
What do I wear to class?
Slippery sole shoes are a must for Rock’n’Roll dance. While sneakers can be comfortable, progress will be hindered as sneakers grip to the floor too much. Smooth sole shoes are best. Members planning to ‘stick with it’ should consider investing in a pair of Rock’n’Roll dance shoes. Speak to your instructor for advice.
Casual clothes are fine for attending the class. Serious dancers are more than welcome to wear their 50’s attire of course! Ladies and girls may wish to wear their 50’s skirts to class if they have one. Part of the Rock’n’Roll dance style is the spinning of skirts and petticoats and couples may wish to practise getting that skirt to spin!
What ages can join?
Our class is ideal of all ages. Juniors and adults will be split into groups where appropriate. Juniors are recommended to be 7 years and over. It’s important for junior dancers to remember that focus and maturity is important for partner dancing as it is a team sport!
Am I good enough to join?
Our Rock’n’Roll class invites dancers of all skill levels. While the class is aimed at beginner to intermediate level, we love to see more experienced dancers join us for a weekly dance. Partner dancing is a great social outlet full of mental and physical exercise and we invite dancers from other clubs to utelise the hour to practise and enjoy cutting a rug with us as we blast 50’s classics and practise our moves in a fun, social environment.
